AKC Standard for Breeds

The AKC standard for every dog breed starts from the Parent Club. This club is recognised by the AKC national club devoted to each breed. The standard approved by the club is an authentic blueprint that is used to judge during dog shows and an important instrument for the validation of the breeder’s work. Around the world, there are about 340 dog breeds but only 200 breeds have been recognised by the American Kennel Club.
